ALSC announces “A Celebration of Illustration!”

The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), has organized a virtual one-day event, “A Celebration of Illustration!” This event will take place Friday, May 14, 2021 and will feature key children’s book creators, leaders in children’s librarianship, and many others! Attendees will enjoy panel discussions on current issues and trends in illustration with award-winning creators, illustration-based continuing education programs, and more.

Space is limited for this event and ALSC members receive a discounted rate. Once an attendee registers, they will receive detailed communication on event activity, including process to sign-up for two live educational programs. Conference registrants will have on-demand access to education programs after the event as well, as a benefit of their event registration. Registration will close April 30, 2021.

“This virtual event is the 2021 replacement for the biennial ALSC Preconference session that traditionally precedes ALA’s Annual Conference,” said ALSC President Kirby McCurtis. “We received a lot of positive feedback from our 2020 Virtual Institute and we are excited to bring our community together again this spring!”
