CHICAGO – The Child (a.k.a Grogu or Baby Yoda) debuts in the new winter catalog from ALA Graphics. The breakout star of Disney+’s hit Star Wars series The Mandalorian appears on The Child poster and bookmark spreading the message, “READ. This is the Way.” Reminiscent of the original Yoda poster ALA Graphics offered in the early 1980s, this adorable new addition is sure to be a collector’s item.
The latest catalog brings Marley Dias to the celebrity READ® poster campaign. Marley is the 15-year-old founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks, an international movement to collect and donate children’s books that feature Black girls as the lead character. In 2018, Marley was recognized by TIME as one of the 25 most influential teens and was also identified as the youngest member of the Forbes 30 under 30 list to date in the U.S.
For the littlest readers, Graphics presents a trio of materials featuring Marvel’s mightiest heroes, Rocket and Groot. Inspired by the Rocket and Groot picture book series written by Brendan Deneen and illustrated by Cale Atkinson, Rocket and Groot exclaim “reading is out of this world” on a new poster, accompanied by Rocket and Groot bookmarks promoting positive messages for growing readers.
The winter catalog also unveils the official design of the 2021 National Library Week materials. The theme, “Welcome to Your Library,” promotes the idea that libraries extend far beyond the four walls of a building—and that everyone is welcome to use their services. A poster, bookmark, and several digital options will help libraries invite their communities to visit the library in person or virtually to explore new worlds and become their best selves through access to technology, multimedia content, and educational programs.
ALA Graphics supports the mission of the American Library Association through the creation and distribution of quality products promoting libraries, literacy, and reading.
